About us

Open Links Foundation (OLF) is a non-profit registered in 2017 in India. Our mission is to make education Fun and Relevant.

Learning experience of over 90% of school students are influenced by teachers. tickLinks, by OLF, helps teachers to find the right resources – Lesson plans, activities, worksheets, videos etc.. It reduces their class preparation time and improves class effectiveness.

Our mission is to help the classrooms transition from Teaching spaces to Learning spaces. Children should develop confidence to ask questions and express their thoughts, do new things and not be afraid to make mistakes,  and develop respect for all forms of work, people and things. 

tickLinks has over 8,000 high quality lesson plans for Class 1-10th covering - Maths, EVS, Science, English and SST. These are open links and freely accessible. We are translating these plans to Hindi. We have CBSE and various state board curriculum – Punjab, Assam, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Assam - and are working on others.

WE ARE LOOKING TO MAKE A LARGE SOCIAL CHANGE BY USING OPEN CONTENT, PRACTICES, TEAMS, COLLABORATION AND DATA & SOFTWARE

Open for us does not mean un-directed or un-organized. We organize open source content. We create and organize teams to curate and catalog the open content in the best possible manner. We further build and organize teams to disseminate this content and practices for most effective and affordable use.

Open for us does not mean poor quality. On the contrary – we believe it brings in more creativity, variety and experiences. This is true of the content and also for the volunteers – who bring variety in experiences and practices. This enhances learning experiences and makes it more dynamic and affordable.

India has many state boards and 22 regional languages. There is very little high quality content available in regional languages. This gap can be filled by creating open communities and open source content.

Our goal is to make education more well-rounded, useful, and fulfilling to the learner. Education must build character, while at the same time prepare them for gainful, fulfilling employment. Children not only learn, but more importantly learn how to learn.

Adoption of technology in school education has lagged behind for many reasons. 21st century education and educators certainly need to take advantages of the 21stcentury technology. We are making concerted effort at multiple levels to increase the adoption ot tickLinks in the community.

tickLinks is an open platform and freely available to teachers. We also work with schools and school chains and run implementation programs to help teachers get familiar with the tools and also guide them to use the lesson plans in the right manner. Apart from this we run contests, workshops and webinars to create a bottom up excitement and familiarity with tickLinks.

We work with over 500+ schools and have over 30,000  registered users in tickLinks as in Feb’21.

Open Links Foundation is a registered Public Charitable Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 on 28 Jul 2017. We are a 12A registered society. We are 80(G) certified under income tax act. Our financial records are audited annually by Joshi, Borse and Pol. Open Links Foundation follows all financial regulations set forth for non-profits by the Government of India..
